CBDT Introduces e-PAN for 19k New Companies

The Central Board of Direct Taxes said that it has issued PANs for 19,704 different new firms in a day. With this it has also introduced the e-PAN card, or electronic PAN, which was sent to the applicants via email.

According to CBDT, the e-PAN users will be able to benefit greatly as they can submit their PAN digitally to other agencies who need them or store them in electronic lockers for each access.

To get PAN and TAN (Tax Deduction Account Number) the applicant companies can submit a common application form SPICe (INC 32) on the MCA portal, which sends the information to CBDT. After this the PAN and TAN are issued immediately without any further intervention of the applicant company.
