CBI Raids NDTV’s Prannoy Roy, Radhika Roy in Connection to 2008-10 Fraud Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided the residences of NDTV promotor Prannoy Roy this Monday in regard to the allegation on him causing a loss of Rs. 48 crore on a Rs. 350 crore loan he took during 2008-10. He along with his wife Radhika Roy, a few ICICI officials, and RRPR Holding were also accused of withholding share transaction from the ministry of information and broadcasting, and Securities and Exchange Board of India.

Chiding the CBI’s action, NDTV said the agency had filed a FIR on the basis of a “shoddy” complaint raised by a “disgruntled” former NDTV consultant.
