CEA Arvind Subramanian Resigns, Announces Jaitley

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley took to Facebook to announce the resignation of Chief Economic Advisor Arvind Subramaniam who has served under the role for nearly 4 years now.

Subramaniam’s term was extended last year as per which it was supposed to end in May 2019.  However, he decided to step down to go back to the US and meet “pressing family commitments”, Jaitley said.

Jaitley said that Subramaniam informed him about the decision in a video conference and shall resign within the next 2 months.
