Centre Increases Minimum Wage by 10%

The national floor-level minimum wage (NFLMW) has been increased from Rs. 160 per day to Rs. 176 per day by the Centre and is with effect from July 1. The government has also sent notifications to the states to comply with the new regulation.

As the states will follow the new wage standard, blue collar workers and other employees in factories are expected to greatly benefit from the same.

The last time when NFLMW was revised was the year 2015 when it was increased by 17% i.e. to Rs. 160 per day from Rs. 137 per day.
