Centre May Launch Digital India 2.0 Soon

The central government is planning to initiate the next phase of its Digital India project in a bid to make the country $1 trillion or Rs. 70 lakh crores digital economy by 2022. Considering that the current economy stands at Rs. 20 lakh crores, the target growth is 3.5 times of what’s now.
The plan is to make the digital payments industry grow to Rs. 35 lakh crore, telecom to Rs. 7 lakh crores, and electronics industry also to Rs. 7 lakh crores. Another key goal is to reskill one million people in the IT industry.
“Digital India 2.0 will make way for new technologies for better and faster implementation.” an official said.
