Citi to hire 80 commercial bankers in India
As it unwinds its retail bank in the country, American lender Citi on Tuesday said it will employ 80 investors in India throughout the following three years for its business banking vertical. The move is important for an arrangement to enlist 350 financiers in Citi Commercial Bank Asia Pacific throughout the following three years, according to a statement.

According to reports, the bank, which had taken a choice to leave the retail banking business in the greater part of the business sectors universally, is in the cutting-edge phase of selling the business in India, with Axis Bank driving the race.

The bank had before indicated that the transition to selling the retail business is driven by the worldwide choice, and it will keep on filling in different areas like commercial banking.

The business banking business serves medium-sized organizations and arising corporates, with incomes going from USD 10 million to USD 3 billion every year.

“Asia Pacific is home to a quickly developing number of new and arising corporates, as well as average-sized organizations, that are aggressively pursuing growth,” said Rajat Madhok, head of Citi Commercial Bank for Asia Pacific.
