Culture and Tourism Industry Makes Aadhaar Mandatory for Beneficiaries

The ministries of culture and tourism have made it mandatory for the beneficiaries of their several schemes, mainly the short-term programs meant for increasing employability, to have Aadhaar numbers. The ruling of mandating Aadhar was informed by the means of notifications and it covers delivery of services, subsidies and several other benefits.

The culture and tourism ministries have joined hands with five other ministries viz. healthy and family welfare, human resource development, etc. that have issued 14 similar notifications for 11 other schemes, including promotion of primary and secondary education.
