Demonetization Impact: Cashless Transactions at Fuel Retail Outlets Increase by 300%

Since note-ban, the total number of cashless transactions at the fuel retail outlets have increased from a mere 6% to 17.9%, as told by the petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan during a meeting of Consultative Committee of the Members of Parliament in Srinagar.

At the meeting that was held on Friday, Pradhan said the total number of cashless transactions have increased from Rs 150 crore per day to Rs 400 crore per day. This has been made possible with the push to digital money by petroleum ministry, and the fact that 86% of the fuel retail outlets have their own digital infrastructure today.
