Despite all Talks, Gender Diversity in Workplace a Distant Realty: Data Shows
March 29, 2019
Even as the workplaces across the country are promising to be more gender diverse, most of them have failed to get enough women in the leadership positions in the past few years. For every 100 CEOs and upper-level management executives in the companies listed on the National Stock Exchange, only three are women.
The database shows that amid 1,814 CEOs and MDs in the NSE-listed companies, only 67 i.e. 3.69% are women. The disparity exists on a global level as well as only 4.8% of women CEOs were named in the 2018 Fortune 500 list.
