Domestic Air Traffic Reports Negative Growth, Worst in Years

This Wednesday, global airlines’ grouping International Air Transport Association (IATA) said that a negative growth rate was registered by India’s domestic air traffic in April which is the worst ever in the past 5 years. It attributed the poor performance to the demise of domestic airline Jet Airways.

IATA said that after enjoying an impressive double-digit Revenue Passenger Kilometer (RPK) growth over a sustained period, India registered its first negative growth in the domestic market in the past 5 years.
