Ericsson’s Network Services to be Used by Vodafone Idea to Become 5G Ready

Telecom giant Ericsson said that it will allow Vodafone Idea’s (VIL) existing network to use its Cloud Packet Core that can facilitate the transition to 5G services. The arrangement will allow VIL to use services like Virtualization Infrastructure (NFVi) solution, virtual Evolved Packet Gateway (vEPG) which can help it to provide a wide range of 5G services on its existing network.

Ericsson’s NFVi Solution allows telecom operators to expedite the installation of new applications while keeping the ownership costs low. It also provides a robust framework for advanced services like 5G and IoT.
