Ex-RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan Called to Brief on Mounting NPAs
Former RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan has been called by a parliamentary panel to brief on the issue of mounting non-performing assets (NPA), sources said. He was reportedly praised by the former Chief Economic Advisor (CEA) Arvind Subramanian in the committee headed by BJP leader Murali Manohar Joshi on his keen insight into the problem of bad loans. As a result, a letter was written by Joshi inviting him to appear before the panel and brief the members on the matter.

Rajan was the governor of the central bank for 3 years till September 2016. At present, he is working as Katherine Dusak Miller Distinguished Service Professor of Finance at Chicago Booth.
