Exports to be Doubled by 2025, Says Suresh Prabhu
Commerce Minister, Suresh Prabhu said that the government is working on a strategy to increase the country’s exports two-fold by 2025. In a recent stakeholders’ meeting, a number of issues related to the export industry were discussed at length to create a strategy that can double the exports within the target date.

Prabhu said that a strategy must be put in place to overcome challenges like high logistics costs, stringent approach of banks affecting credit availability, uncertainty in global trade, etc.

India’s merchandise exports and service exports to other countries increased by 10% to $303 billion and by 18.8% to $195 billion respectively during FY 2017-18.
