With the general elections approaching in India, Facebook has bolstered its fact-checking programme by bringing in five new third-party partners including Factly, India Today Group, and Fact Crescendo. It said that it’s equipped checkers with tools to monitor videos and images to identify those who are spreading misinformation.

The social media giant announced recently that now Factly, Vishvas. news, India Today Group, Fact Crescendo, and Newsmobile all of which are certified under a nonpartisan International Fact-Checking Network will review news on the platform based on facts to measure their accuracy.
