Farm Loans Waiver Not a Permanent Solution: Venkiah Naidu

Stressing on the need for increasing the income of the farming community Vice-President Venkiah Naidu said that loan waivers aren’t a permanent solution. He said that these measures will only hurt the farmers in the long run and affect the agriculture sector as well.
Naidu said that it’s important that agriculture is made economically viable and pro-farmer policies created. He said that the farmers should be encouraged to augment their income from additional sources such as dairy, poultry, etc. that can also serve as a cushion during a bad crop season.
