Farm Pension Scheme to be Launched by PM Next Month

According to some senior officials, the government is likely to start the enrolment for the much-awaited pension scheme for farmers called Pradhan Mantri Kisan Mandhan Yojana from August 1. This will serve as a soft launch of the scheme, although they said that PM Narendra Modi will officially announce the scheme in his Independence Day speech. They also said that as many as 4-5 million registrations shall be completed till then.
Under the PM Pension Yojana, farmers can contribute ₹100 per month to avail a fixed monthly pension income of ₹3,000 on the attainment of 60 years.
