Foxconn to invest $1 billion in India

Foxconn plans to contribute up to $1 billion to extend a processing plant in southern India where the Taiwanese contract manufacturing assembles Apple iPhones, two sources said.

The move, the size of which has not recently been accounted for, is a piece of a tranquil and continuous creation move by Apple away from China as it explores interruptions from an exchange war among Beijing and Washington and the coronavirus emergency.

According to the sources, “There’s a solid solicitation from Apple to its customers to move some portion of the iPhone creation out of China”.

Foxconn said it doesn’t remark on issues identified with clients, while Apple didn’t react to a solicitation for input.
