Funds Flowing to Developing Countries a Problem: G20 Watchdog Mark Carney
July 12, 2017
Expressing concern over the flow of funds to the developing countries, Financial Stability Board Chairman Mark Carney said that the increasing influence of open-ended funds can lead to major problems if the flow is abruptly reversed.
Open-ended funds are the type of funds that can be issued and redeemed by shares at any point in time. Thus, when liquidity problems arise or when there is a need to redeem investors at short notice, it can result in economic disruption.
