G20 Asked to Push Digital Tax to Tighten Grasp on Digital Giants

This Saturday, G20 finance officials agreed that online Giants like Facebook and Google must be taxed under a global system even as they couldn’t find the best way to go about it.

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development has been tasked by G20 to look into ways to tax digital giants who are taking advantage of low-tax jurisdictions in countries like Ireland. These companies make huge profits but pay meagre sums in taxes.
