Gender Diversity Is The Future Of Finance
May 15, 2019
Investment management is futile without diversification. However, despite this sound knowledge, diversity, especially when it comes to gender roles remains largely absent from the investment industry. According to a recent study by CFA Institute of Gender Diversity in Investment Management, women investment professionals hold a mere 11% of C-suite positions. Many finance companies reflect this trend, where women are a minority of employees.
Research indicates that gender-diverse companies deliver better returns with lower volatility for investors. Efforts should be made to reduce gender inequality in the workplace as this will encourage more women to participate in the workforce, thereby, improving the quality of output and decision making. More female executives could transform the industry by bringing new perspectives and turn old investment strategies inside out.
