General Elections 2019: 87,000 WhatsApp Groups Influencing Political Landscape
With the general elections right around the corner, India’s top political parties have become highly active on social media platforms. Messenger app WhatsApp has emerged as the most popular choice with tens of thousands of groups that are influencing the users to gain a political upper hand. 

Social media expert Anoop Mishra said over 87,000 WhatsApp groups are targeting users to change the political climate. He said the platform is flooded with content about regional violence, fake news, and statistics, historical myths, etc. in this election season that’s heating up quite a lot.
