Global Stock Markets Surge as US Meets China for Trade Talks

Global stock markets responded positively, as the Chinese delegation heads to Washington to begin the next round of trade talks. Investors hope that the two economic powerhouses thrash out a deal to end the ongoing trade war.

The Shanghai Composite index witnessed a rise of 3.1% while the A-share index in Shenzhen surged to 3.8%. According to traders, Chinese institutional investors had increased buying to help the financial markets in the country. Hang Sang of Hong Kong gained 0.8%, Nikkei of Japan finished the trading day at 0.3% while the Sensex in India is 0.3% high during the mid-trading day.
