Google Plans to be More Transparent with Political Ads Ahead of General Elections
With the Lok Sabha Election 2019 just around the corner, tech giant Google has announced that it’s going to bring more transparency in election advertisements and give the voters adequate election-related information.

Google said that it will roll out a searchable Political Ads Library and Political Advertising Transparency Report which will allow the voters to check for themselves who are purchasing election ads on Google and how much money they are spending. These features will be implemented in March 2019.

Google India’s Public Policy Director Chetan Krishnaswamy said that this year 850 million Indians will cast their vote for the country’s next government. Google is trying to bring more openness to election advertising online to give the people the information that they need, he said.
