Google revealed youtubes ad revenue for 2019
February 05, 2020
Google has announced, YouTube has generated $5 million in the last three months through ad revenue as part of the parent company, Alphabet’s fourth-quarter earnings report. It has been now 15 years since Google acquired YouTube and bought it for $1.65 billion in 2006.
Google says YouTube has generated $15 billion last year and contributed only 10% to google income. Figures make YouTube’s ad business nearly one fifth the size of Facebook’s, and more than six times higher than Amazon-owned Twitch.
Separately, YouTube has more than 20 million subscribers over its Premium (ad-free YouTube) and music offerings, as well as more than 2 million subscribers to its paid TV service.
Even as YouTube has grown a huge site, its ad revenue rises at a good pace, increasing 36% in 2019 which is much faster than google ad revenue, including its search ads business, which grew by 16% year over year in 2019.
