Government starts desi version of e-retail for rural areas

The government starts the desi version of e-retail for rural areas in the country during the nationwide lockdown. Due to the restrictions in the country, the government has planned for online retail for the rural areas and carrying out home deliveries.

The initiative is led with the aid of the Common Service Centres, the outreach of rural digital vehicle of the government is around 60 crores consumers through its almost 3.8lakh channels.

The Outlets are set up for the rural areas in the country and they are operated by the individuals under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Electronics and IT. Common Service Centres will look after the supply of essential commodities to the consumers.
