Government Working on Universal Social Security Scheme for 10 Crore Workers
According to a report by The Economic Times, the labor ministry is looking to create a universal social security scheme that will cover nearly 10 crore workers by the next year.

Presently, the ministry is trying to arrive at the correct number of beneficiaries as that will help in estimating the amount of money required for the scheme. It’s referring to the Tendulkar poverty line 2011-12 to identify the eligible beneficiaries.

The universal social security scheme will have 4 levels, with the lowest one belonging to the workers below the poverty line, 3rd level to the workers in the unorganized sector, 2nd level to the self-employed or with employers, and the 4th to the relatively well-off individuals.
