Govt Charging Pvt. Companies for Aadhaar Authentication to Make Services Costlier
This Thursday, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) said that it will now charge the private companies for their e-KYC transactions. This decision has been criticized by the industry as the stakeholders said that it may inflate the cost of services for the end consumers especially those living in the rural areas.

As per a government’s notification, private companies will be charged ₹20 for each Aadhaar authentication, and ₹50 paisa for each yes/no transaction.
