Govt Looking to Merge 44 Labor Laws Under 4 Categories

In a bid to push growth and help the investors, the NDA government is working towards merging 44 labor laws under the following categories: industrial relations, industrial safety and welfare, social security, and wages.

Labor Minister Santosh Ganwar attended a meeting under the chairmanship of home minister Amit Shah recently during which the decision of merging the laws was taken. He said that the draft bill for the merger will be presented before the Union Cabinet and introduced in the Lok Sabha afterward.

Some of the key Acts that will be merged include the Minimum Wages Act, Payment of Bonus Act, Mines Act, etc.
