Govt May Introduce Skill Vouchers for Youth’s Upskilling

To encourage the youngsters of India to undertake various skilling programs of their choice, the government is pondering over issuing skill vouchers which can be used for paying for skill programs at the government-approved skill providers.
A government official said that the redeemable value of the skill vouchers will vary from one course to another. They also said that the proposal is in line with the government’s aim towards switching to an incentive-based Skill India system from the current subsidy-based system.
