Govt partners Swiggy to bring street food online

Foodtech giant Swiggy has marked a MoU with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs or MoHUA to bring India’s road food sellers on to its online stage.

The activity under PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi or PM SVANidhi Scheme will enable these merchants to develop their business which was seriously hit are as yet battling because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

As per an announcement delivered by the service, “MoHUA and Swiggy will run a test case program by on-boarding 250 merchants across five urban cities specifically Ahmedabad, Chennai, Delhi, Indore, and Varanasi.”

MoHUA has composed with the key partners including Municipal Corporations, FSSAI, Swiggy and GST authorities to guarantee all required rules are followed, the announcement said.
