Govt Reviews Cost of Healthcare Services to Fund Ayushman Bharat
In a bid to push the ambitious Ayushman Bharat scheme across the entire nation successfully, the government has decided to review the various costs of healthcare services first. Under the ministry of health and family welfare, the department of health research (DHR) will compare the administrative and infrastructure costs in the government sector with the private sector.

National Health Authority’s Executive Director Arun Gupta said that India needs to develop a pricing and strategic financing mechanism just like other developed countries. He said that many government and private institutions have been brought together to work on the financial evaluation. These include the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA), and Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh.
