GST Rates on Household Items Reduced, GSTR 1 Filing Deadline Extended

In what’s certainly a big relief to a common man, the Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates on a variety of household items have been reduced, something that was promised by the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley recently.

At the 21st GST Council meeting held on Saturday, the decision of reducing taxes on houses hold items was collectively taken by the authority. It’s also decided to extend the deadline for filing GSTR 1 to October 10.
Some of the common items on which GST rates have been reduced are dosa batter, dried tamarind, rubber bands, custard powder, etc.
