GST Refund Claim Process Simplified for Businesses

The Finance Ministry said that it has reduced the compliance burden for businesses as they can now claim GST refunds simply by submitting a printout of the GSTR-2A form to the tax authorities rather than sharing the purchase invoices of an entire month. However, an official said that in some cases the form may not contain all the details of the invoices if the GSTR-1 form was delayed or not filed at all, in which case an officer may ask for hard copies of the invoices if required.
