GST Regulations: Jail Term, Penalty up to Rs. 1 Lakh for Not Printing Revised MRP

The government is cracking the whip with regard to GST regulations as Ram Vilas Paswan, Minister of Consumer Affairs, said that manufacturers found to be not printing the revised rates on their products in the interest of the consumers can be fined up to Rs. 1 lakh and even sent to jail for 1 year. He said that for the first-time offense a manufacturer will be fined Rs. 25,000, and for the second time Rs. 50,000. If there is a third offense then the fine would be Rs. 1 lakh along with the possibility of imprisonment up to 1 year.
