GST Rollout: Retailers Not Expecting Sales Disruptions, Working Overtime

As many industry stakeholders fear business disruptions with GST launch, organized retailers are undaunted and assured that GST won’t impact sales. Ashwin Khasgiwala, Reliance Retail’s CFO said that they have to be prepared as GST is set to be launched on July 1. He added that they are not expecting sales disruptions and no one has expressed such concerns as well.
Big retail players such as Trent HyperCity, Future Group, Reliance Retail, etc. are expecting major price reductions post GST launch. However, the consensus is to keep the costs under check while protecting the margins at the same time.
