GST will Lower Inflation by 1%-2% By End of Year, Says Revenue Secretary HasmukhAdhia

In an interview with All India Radio (AIR), Revenue Secretary HasmukhAdhia said that the Goods and Services Tax (GST) will help lower inflation by 1% to 2% by year end. He said that the government wants to make sure that inflation does not increase, which is one of the reasons why it has put a large number of items that are commonly used by consumers under a lower tax slab.

Talking about tax collection, Adhia said that while there will be some losses initially, in the long run, the revenue will increase.
