GSTN, CBDT Team up to Check Black Money

In a bid to curb the growing problem of black money generation and tax evasion, the Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) has joined hands with Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT). The latter has agreed to share data with the former which includes gross tax income, the status of IT returns, turnover ratio, etc. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will also be signed by the director general of IT (systems) with the GSTN, a circular that was released by CBDT this Tuesday said.
