Heads of Financial Institutions No Longer Picked by BBB

The task of selecting the candidates for running state-run banks has been taken away from Banks Board Bureau by the government. Now, a committee headed by Anjuly Chib Duggal, financial services secretary, will be making the selection for the four vacant CEO positions for four financial institutions.

So far, the government has received about 90 applications for the chief posts of Sidbi, IFCI, IIFCL, and Exim Bank. Duggal’s committee, which also comprises of secretary GC Murmu, will he finalizing the selections soon.
