- While the government is launching various new schemes to attract customers to UPI and BHIM, various companies are searching for methods of using UPI for something other than a plain vanilla payment app.
- On that note, Hike will become first chat platform to integrate UPI not only for peer to peer transfer but also help in making mobile payments, like recharges.
- Axis has had this feature for quite a time now. UPI would allow its interoperability of transfers for Axis bank as well as Hike.
- With WhatsApp and Facebook planning to offer similar services, India may well become the hub for peer-to-peer and merchant transactions using chat services.
