Himachal Pradesh to Get $36 Million Loan from World Bank

To improve the tax administration and public expenditure efficiency of Himachal Pradesh, the World Bank has decided to provide a loan of $36 million to the state. According to the finance ministry, the program will help in increasing the efficiency of key departments and bolster the procedures for fiscal discipline.

HP has signed an agreement with the World Bank for a program that will run for 5 years. It is expected to bring the targeted reforms and increase fiscal space resulting in improved revenue administration.

The program budget is $45 million, of which $36 million will be extended by the World Bank, and the remaining by the State government.
