IAAPI Upset with High GST Rates, Says it to Hit Industry Hard

The Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industries said that high taxation on the industry by putting in the same category as race courses, casinos, etc. is unfair and has asked the government to revise the tax rate.

Under the GST scheme, betting and race courses, casinos, luxury hotels, and amusement parks etc. have been put under the 28% tax slab. However, IAAPI is not happy with the high rate and has asked the government to put it under the 18% tax slab instead.

Sarin, Chairman of Hindustan Amusement Machines, said that amusement parks used to attract no tax at all, until last year when a 15% tax rate was levied, which is still less than the new 28% rate.
