India can lead in building global tech framework

Facebook India MD Ajit Mohan said, “India should take leadership roles and come up with solutions for the world. We need to build frameworks for the future on what the new guidelines of the internet should be which will solve the need for gaining trust of public”.

Roopa Kudva, MD, Omidyar Network said, “Companies need to build trust to enable India’s next 500 million, who come from the bottom of India’s income distribution, enabling them to benefit by the internet by making it more contextual and relatable while protecting them from scam”.

An area where regulatory bodies can help to guide customers is to come up with a grading or certification method, said Kudva. “Food safety has awesome certifications today. In the event that we recreate that and think of something to that effect for protection at that point some general guideline will be there that can help clients cut through the jargon and trust organizations more,” she said.

Discussing about the Internet as a fundamental right, Infosys co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan said each home ought to have a digital gadget following every one, give one principle. “Each and every individual who can give a gadget to some who cannot afford it,” said Gopalakrishnan.
