India’s recent decision authorizing 5G trials without Chinese organizations Huawei and ZTE is a sovereign one, a top State Department official has said, asserting that America is profoundly worried about the perils of introducing networks with hardware that can be controlled, upset or potentially controlled by China.

India’s Department of Telecom a week ago endorsed uses of telecom organizations Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea and MTNL to direct 5G trials however none of them will utilize technologies of Chinese entities.

State Department Spokesperson Ned Price, at his day-by-day news conference on Tuesday said, this was a sovereign choice with respect to the Indian government, so we allude you to the Government of India for any remark on that choice.

In any case, I would say all the more comprehensively, the facts demonstrate that we are profoundly worried about the threats of introducing networks with hardware that can be controlled, upset or potentially controlled by the PRC (People’s Republic of China).
