India Needs Limited but Stronger Banks, Says Arun Jaitley
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley who held a post-budget meeting with the central board of the RBI recently said that India needs fewer but stronger banks. He said that the economies of scale in the banking sector can be of great help in all sorts of ways such as optimum utilization and borrowing rates.

RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das said that the central bank will take the decision regarding consolidation in the banking sector on the basis of the report submitted by Bimal Jalan-led committee.
