India Surpasses China in 2017 Global Retail Development Index

Not only India has secured the top position among 30 developing countries in the 2015 Global Retail Development Index, it has also surpassed China in the process. India is now on the top in terms of ease of doing business, which the study contributed to the relaxation of FDI rules, growing economy, and an increase in the domestic consumption. China, however, is just one rank behind at number 2.

The retail sector in India is expected to grow 30% every year, and reach USD 48 billion by 2020.
