India to approve COVID-19 vaccine in few weeks

India’s drug regulator may give emergencies use licenses to at least one Covid-19 vaccinations of the three under audit in the following not many weeks, health secretary Rajesh Bhushan said on Tuesday. Pfizer, Serum Institute of India, and Bharat Biotech have applied for market authorization for their antibodies.

A senior government official said the Subject Expert Committee (SEC) at the controller, the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), will take up their applications for thought on Wednesday. “The specialists will give their proposals to the controller, in view of which an ultimate choice will be taken,” the authority said. “The organizations will give an introduction to sharing their information before the SEC.”

When an antibody gets a green sign from researchers, India will dispatch an enormous creation drive, health secretary Bhushan said. “We’ve made arrangements and attracted a diagram to increase the creation and make it accessible to every single individual in the most limited possible time,” he said.
