Indian Banks Adopting Robots to Handle Customer Queries

Don’t be surprised if you find a 4.5-feet tall humanoid robot when you walk into the Canara Bank’s head office in Bengaluru. The robot is one of the many that both private and public sector banks in the country have started adopting to handle the customer queries.

The Canara Bank robot has an HD camera on its head and can answer more than 500 queries in Kannada. The office has great use for this robot as it has 15 departments and receives high foot-traffic.

Use of robots in banks is not quite new in the country. City Union Bank and HDFC Bank are also planning to install similar robots for query handling.
