Indian Banks Unveil Exclusive Railway Credit Cards to Elevate Travel Experience
In response to the growing demand for railway ticket bookings and exclusive lounge access, leading banks in India have introduced enticing credit card offers, aiming to enhance the travel experience for customers. According to recent data from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) as of September 2023, these banks are making significant strides in the credit card sector, offering features such as cashback, discounts, and complimentary railway lounge access.

HDFC Bank, for instance, has launched the IRCTC HDFC Bank Credit Card, designed for seamless and secure transactions. Notable features include earning 5 Reward Points for every Rs 100 spent on the IRCTC ticketing website, a 5% cashback on train ticket bookings via HDFC Bank SmartBuy, and 8 complimentary accesses to select IRCTC Lounges annually.

State Bank of India (SBI) has introduced the IRCTC SBI Platinum Card, featuring an activation bonus of 350 Reward Points on a single transaction of Rs. 500 or more within 45 days of card issuance. Bank of Baroda offers the IRCTC BoB RuPay Credit Card, providing up to 40% reward points for ticket bookings and a bonus of 1000 reward points on a single transaction of Rs. 1000 or more.

Kotak Mahindra Bank is offering the Kotak Royale Signature Credit Card with a railway surcharge waiver for transactions on www.irctc.co.in and Indian Railways Booking Counters. This card allows cardholders to earn up to 4 reward points on every Rs. 150 spent across all categories, excluding railway surcharge.

As banks compete for the attention of railway travellers, these credit card offerings aim to provide a combination of convenience, savings, and exclusive perks for those exploring the Indian rail network.
