Indian shares rise on financials
May 27, 2021
Indian shares rose on Wednesday, boosted by gains in financial and information technology stocks, as a descending pattern in every day COVID-19 cases fuelled any desires for a swifter financial returning.
The blue-chip NSE Nifty 50 file (.NSEI) was up 0.47% at 15,279.10 by 0521 GMT, while the benchmark S&P BSE Sensex (.BSESN) was 0.51% higher at 50,890.03.
“In general, the market is positive on account of drop in COVID-19 cases and on assumption that the economy will be further opened,” said Vinod Nair, head of examination at Geojit Financial Services.
“Market is trusting that localized lockdowns will be decreased in the coming weeks so the economy will be vastly improved.”
On Tuesday, India detailed its most minimal every day rise in cases in over a month.
