India’s Richest 1% Got 39% Richer in 2018, Bottom-Half Just 3%
According to a new Oxfam study, India’s richest individuals, a meagre 1% of the population, saw their wealth grow by a whopping 39% in 2018 as the billionaires made around ₹2,200 crores a day throughout the year. The bottom half of the population, on the other hand, saw their wealth grow by a modest 3%. 

The study by the international rights group said that billionaires around the world saw their wealth grow by 12% last year. However, the bottom half of the global population saw their wealth decline by 11%.
